Welcome loyal true friends or family, because if you reading this fair play you must care about me! I know my blog entries are sometime long but I thank you for reading thus far :)

So I'm at the last week of my summer camp contract and I'm very happy to learn that I am in Fredericksburg where I coached for a week last year. It is a great little place, a town where I would never ever of visited if it wasn't for the soccer camp there (apologies I did say soccer). I would be coaching there with a dude called Ryan and he's from Fairwater in Cardiff which is nuts, so I knew I was gonna have a good week. I knew of Ryan because we had met at the training weekend and at the airport but this was the first time we would work together.

Only bad thing was he didn't drive so it was on Carew to get us there. It was only a 4 hour drive so it was nothing major but our directions were dodgy as sh*t! It gave us a direction for a street at one point that didn't even exist, we found this out through a local at the town we were lost in. He was nice enough to let us follow him to our next direction which was an interstate. Ryan was co pilot but had far too many ladies texting him ti keep up with what was going on :)

We got to Fredericksburg about 6:30pm only 30 Min's late but we were staying in a Motel Sunday evening anyway so there was no host families waiting for us thankfully. We met up with Garrett the Camp Co-coordinator (who by the way is and absolute legend/maniac) and he presented us both with a beer, happy days! We eat at his house Sunday evening and he had Barbecued ribs and they were amazing! The good thing was Ryan had coached there earlier in the summer and I had coached there last year so he knew us both and we basically all knew the week was gonna be a right giggle.

Coaching hours for the week were to be 9-12pm every day so we were happy with this, the other good news was on the Monday we found ourselves a host family. A family who's son Charles was on camp offered to host me and Ryan as they had a guest house which was currently empty. Happy days so we finished up at camp eat with Garrett at his house and then made our way to our new host family. At the moment I am racking my brain for the families name but Dag nammit I can't think of it! I'll update this when I remember, but they were a lovely family. They owned cattle which they would graze for two years and then chop em up :) They had 4 deep freezers full of meat and they also looked after chickens in there back yard which they would use for their eggs.

Like every family I have stayed with this summer they were very welcoming and made sure me and Ryan were comfortable and had enough to eat. The host Mum's cooking was incredible every night we had something different but just as good as the night before. She really did spoil us rotten, the one night they made homemade vanilla ice-cream and it was beautiful! The one day we all went the local country club to swim everyone went apart from he host Dad who was working. It was nice to spend the day with all the kids, there was Charles and he had 2 older sisters Sarah, 12 and Kaitlyn who was 14.

A few of the days we went out for food with Garrett one day to a Mexican and the other day was to a restaurant that was owned by the parents of kids on camp. They were on camp last year and they are a great family and do great food. The only problem is that the place is in an old morgue. We met some Mexican girls Pamela and Paola and went out for drinks at a bar on the wednesday it was a good night because some guy in there just kept buying the whole bar a drink so we all accepted of course. On the thursday night we went to Rock Box! This is like there local theatre in Fredericksburg. They do a show with a mix of 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's music with some comedy mixed in. It was a great night all the people in the show were very good, at the half time break a guy took us back stage to meet everyone which was nice. I think it was because we were from a far away place called Wales that we got back stage :). Ryan and I had a good night because we both knew it would be our last night in Fredericksburg because we were to leave straight from camp on Friday to go to the airport to go to MIAMI BABY!!!!

Ryan had been kind enough to invite me to join him and another cardiff lad "Adam" in Miami, so I said "why not".

On the Friday we finished up camp with a pizza party and we signed t-shirts and soccer balls and took photo's but we were pretty much in the car by 12:30pm heading to Austin to give our boss the hire car we had, then it was to the airport to jet of to Miami via Houston. The great thing was a dad of a kid on camp gave us $20 each and said "Buy a drink on Me" that was really nice of him. This little town in Texas is amazing I will be visiting it alot in the future everyone is so nice they really are.

Next entry will be Miami baby! Yeah!
