First and foremost Welcome to my Blog! Hopefully it will give you an insight into the amazing experiences that i will encounter this summer. Fingers crossed if your reading this you are a close friend or member of family and you actually care what i'm up to and how i'm getting along. If you don't know me or don't care then who gives a sh*t- welcome to my blog anyway.

Set off 6th June from Cardiff at 07:45pm for heathrow with my lovely Dad, younger brother and his girlfriend. My Dad was driving and the weather was very nasty with the rain bouncing of the road, but he got me there in one piece even if he did have to pull over on the side of the motorway to take a whizz, he thought he was gonna be able to hold it for another 17 miles to a service station he was so very wrong. This was proven when he did a hope skip and a jump better than any Olympic athlete over to the bushes by the hard shoulder, as i'm sure he thought he was gonna wet himself.

Got to heathrow 3 hours before my flight and checked in and did all the borning stuff and met up with a few friends i'd met last year. Got on flight and to my disgust i didn't have my own tv. I asked myself do they not know who I am?? lol. To add insult to injury they only showed 1 film for a 9 hour flight and this film was the pink panther = bunk! Got to philadelphia for 6:00pm U.S time. Had an hour lay over and then was on a flight to Dallas. Had a mixed night sleep at the hotel even though i'd been up 24 hours by the time I got into Dallas.

Had a meeting with the boss on sunday and then was ready to set off to meet first family. Met with host mother for 6pm on the sunday night. Luckily i coached the "Bedford Boys Ranch" camp last year so knew a few people. The son in the host family was on my camp last year and was doing the camp again this year his name is Tai Baskin and he is a little dude, so i was very happy that i would be living with Tai and his family.

The "soccer camps" can be 8:30am -11:30am and then 5:00pm-8:00pm, however I was lucky as I only had 12 kids in total so this camp was only gonna be mornings which was a nice way to ease myself into the summer especially with the dodgy ankle I picked up before I left the U.K. Most days I have been to the gym and then have either chilled out by the pool. We did see a 3d movie one day called "Up" it was a kids movie but it was a good movie.

The kids on camp have been great and it has been a great week as far as the coaching has been concerned. The weather started off great, sun sun and more sun. But then wednesday came and that's when the sh*t hit the fan. There was thunder and lightning like I have never seen before and there was tornado warnings all night. Myself Tai and Clivia (the host Mum) were out eating whilst the worst hit town and it was hold onto your pants time.

Thursday 11th the morning was hurrendous. I reckon a weeks worth of rain fell in 2-3 hours, the roads were like rivers and of course "soccer" camp was cancelled. I was told that i was 20 yrds away from being struck in the swede by a lightning bolt, someone up there cares :) The morning was a wash out but by 3:00pm you wouldn't of even know it had happened as the sun came out and dried up everything. The only evidence of a storm were the 7 or 8 trees that had been struck by lightning.

Was lucky enough to visit the family that hosted me for a month last year, not sure if they wanted to see my ugly mug again but hey. The Gahberts are a great family and they cooked some amazing steak and chicken kebabs on the grill for me and we had some beers and watched some basketball, the host mums (Angie) brother came around to see me and he is a legend. Check my photo's out he's Anthony the one doing a peace sign. Was a great evening and I think i'll be seeing alot of Noah and is family this summer.

Also If you look at my pictures you'll see I have been to a few cheerleading get togethers which has been tough but a man has to do what a man has to do. I have been out to a bar called "Into the Glass" with my host mum which was nice and I have also been to see Tai do some Karate, the Sparring if that's how you spell it, was class! Tai was kicking some butt big time. I have managed to see friends that I met last year Sara and Antony, we went out for lunch one day which was nice and once again the two buggers wouldn't let me pay, before the bill had even been put on the table they were arguing over who was paying for me. Such nice people. Quick mention to the apple pie I ate during this lunch it came on a sizzler with brandy sauce and ice cream it was amazing, hats of to "Dukes Bar" it was luuuuuurrrrrrrvvvvllllyyyyy!

I am coaching for a few hours saturday but this is to make up time that we lost due to the storms, once camo is finished I am going to down town Fort Worth to see the stock yards. Should be good.

All in all the first week has been good. My ankle is still sore but at least I can walk and coach, can't run yet but won't be long. I'm in Keller Texas next week, it's about 20mins from here which is nice. Got a camp with about 110 kids on it, they are sending 6 coaches to do it so should be a good laugh. Carew is in charge so watch out!

Thanks for reading my first entry of my blog. Lot's of lurrve!
