Where I stayed
[Our dorms were a very nice surprise. I was mentally preparing myself, being the spoiled GW "our freshman dorms are like palaces" and thus I've never had to use a common bathroom, for not only the shared bathroom, but the Chinese-style shared bathroom. However, again, I have been spoiled and the dorm that I share with my awesome roommate Cara has a private bathroom complete with Western toilet and a shower with a hot water heater!
Ni hao!! So I just got back from our orientation trip to Tonghai. I'm taking advantage of the fact that the wireless that I'm "borrowing" from somewhere on Yunnan Nationalities University campus is working (cause sometimes it doesn't). I've realized that I'm addicted to the internet. . . I couldn't even survive from the last time I was able to "borrow" wireless when we finally arrived and moved into our dorms. I cheated and used Charles' chinese cell phone that had internet (which presented a interesting contrast that was totally Chinese. This contrast being that I'm in a relatively little "town" (which was larger than any "town" that I've ever seen, but I'm getting ahead of myself). So anyway, I'm in this "town" of Tonghai, and all the internet places are apparently "members only" and I'm definitely in a more rural part of China
