I saw about three turtles and i didn't even go into the water for snorkelling. I think the coolest thing about turtles is the birth. The female lays about 130 eggs in one hole. This is what happens. Girls form on the top of the nest and the boys form on the bottom of the nest.
The girls are on the top of the nest because they have more sun light. The boys are formed at the bottom because they don't need sun light.

usually only 3 baby's make it into the water. Most of the time it's 2 boys and one girl. That is because the girls are on the top so they get out first so all the predators eat the girls then when the boys come out most of the animals are full or gone.

Aunty Kelly on

I'm so excited to hear all about the Galapagos. I can't believe you got to see so many turtles without even going snorkelling. I love turtles. You are so lucky.
