Seeing as the girls from New Jersey had not had Poutine before, we order some more on the way to eat in the Park. A subway ride and 30 minutes walk later, we meet Chloes boyfriend Daniel and we find a place to sit in the park. We sit inbetween a number of strap lines. Strap lines are similar to tight ropes, but the ropes are slack when you try to balance on them. An interesting experience.
I met more of Chloes friends, one called Mo was very fun to talk to and a guy from Germany who was showing everyone how to strap line.
Daniel took me on a hike up to the top of Mont Royal to see the sky line view of Montreal.
The view was awesome. Apparently, it is far better in the fall and winter when there are fewer leaves on the trees so the view is not obstructed. I had a good chat with Daniel and asked his view on Quebec and the rest of Canada's opinion on Quebec. I asked Chloe the same question. They are both proud to be part of Canada, but find it disappointing when non French speaking Canadians say 'we dont't want you to leave Canada' rather than saying 'we want you to still be a part of Canada'. All the people I've met so far in Quebec have been extremely friendly.
Daniel and I make our way back to where everyone else is sat and walk by some people banging drums. There's was a huge crowd and people randomly dancing.
Later on in the afternoon, I was enjoying a long conversation with Chloe when some drunk guy stopped our conversation. He spoke to me in broken English. Apparently, because of the colour of my hair, I had stopped his conversation on the sub way. My hair was so red! Then, he continues to discuss the genetic failures of people with red hair and was I worried about the future, with having genetic failures. I didn't really say much to the guy, Chloe and I both tried to explain to him that the gene is recessive and the numbers of ginger haired people are reducing, but it's not a genetic failure. While we were talking, he downed the rest of his bottle of rum, crazy drunk man!!
The afternoon came to a close and Chloe, Mo and I both head back to Chloes house, via a supermarche! The girls from New Jersey had already set off back down south and Daniel left to spend fathers day with his family.
Back at Chloes house, the kitchen resembled that of a student house. The smell was awful, and the washing up was piled high in the sink! Seeing as the girls were going to cook, lentils, corn and mash all baked together, I offered to wash up. It was either wash up or throw up!
We spent the evening cooking good food, drinking some local beer and chatting the night away. There was also a trip out to an ice cream shop, a very tasty ice cream shop in Chloes neighbourhood. Chloe has three cats, a huge big fat black one called Master D and two others called Black Sabath and Dr Dre! Interesting names for the cats. Of course, when I went to sleep, they all spent time on my mattress on the living room floor.

Day 168 June 20th - The day started early and I walked to a local market in north Montreal to find some crepes for breakfast. I enjoyed two enormous crepes and an espresso.
After eating my crepes, I spent the rest of the day exploring Montreal. The old part of the city and the new part. This is what I saw.
I made my way back to Chloes house at 5pm after spending 6 hours exploring Montreal. The city centre is electric and inspiring. I loved exploring the old city and river side, enjoyed some good coffee and natural lemonade and appreciated the warm weather.
When I returned to Chloes house, we sat on the balcony at the back of the house and drank some juice. We ate leftovers from the night before then Chloe, Daniel and I went to a local bar to drink some pitchers of beer. So, again, a drunk guy came up to me and started talking about the UK. I think he offended Daniel and Chloe by asking if they were English. They can speak English but do not look English. We got back to Chloes pretty late, watched the last episode of a series now on Channel 4 in the UK called the Killing, looked really good.
Again, I go to sleep with various cats sleeping around me.

Day 169 June 21 - I have an early bus to catch to cross over to the USA into Burlington. This time, I am not questioned extensively to reenter the USA. A quick couple of questions and I'm back on the bus enjoying the beauty of the Vermont Countryside.
