Where I stayed
Gran Merit Hotel
I arrive in Cordoba at 7am, jump into a taxi and I haven't written down the address for my hotel. I have booked a hotel for once, after 2 nights in that sweat box and an overnight bus, I needed a good night sleep. I found a reasonably priced hotel right in the centre of Cordoba for a decent price. Wifi, cable and En suite and hopefully, a better night sleep. With my brother arriving in Rio shortly, I doubt he would appreciate a week of seeing his younger brother sleep, though I do predict he will see him sleep some, just not all of the seven days!
The taxi driver and I got off to a bad start, I was cranky, he stopped off at another hotel, found out the address and I apologised to him. Hotel was within walking distance of the main Plaza and within minutes, I was laid out on my bed, fast asleep.
I wander back to the bus station to book my onward ticket for Rosario, it turns out to be a 15 minute walk. On the way out, I think I hear a gunshot. Everyone around me stops and looks as well. It was best not to dwell so I carry on moving, no doubt a car back fire or something.
With no activities planned for my two days in Cordoba, it was time to relax, unwind and think about the great week I just had. I pottered around the city
And, there were so many ice cream stalls open till late, all looking so quiet that I felt bad for them, and felt pressured into purchasing one! As ever, an unoriginal chocolate and vaNilla, I know now to focus on the N!
That night, I sleep like a baby!

Day 35 February 9th - After a great night sleep, it's time to pack my bag again. I'm about to embark on two nights without a bed, so sleep in as long as I can, have one last long shower and leave my bag at the hotel. I have about 11 hours till my bus.
Cordoba is Argentina's 2nd largest city. It is lively, vibrant and has 7 universities. Of course, I have turned up when the uni's are on holiday! Nevermind, money to save for another day. The main city centre is pedestrianised
I wander off to check out the main plaza and local history.
The main plaza was perfection, plenty of benches to sit on and watch the world float by for a couple of hours.
For lunch, I went to a vegetarian restaurant and had a buffet to select from. It was tasty, think it was some sort of vege lasagna and some salad and rice.
I have a skill in killing time and the patience as well. It's much easier when you are not pressed for time or have important deadlines to meet. I must be in Rio to meet my brother, but I have that planned out and if anything goes wrong, there are direct buses and flights.
Did I eat a last meal in Cordoba? I struggle to remember, come to think of it, no I didn't. I picked up some treats at the bus terminal and it turns out I booked the bus for kings!
There were only 3 seats on each row, ie one to the right, two to the left. They reclined the whole way. We were fed instantly, plenty of drinks and I slept like a baby. Only problem, Rosario was only 5 hours away. Sob sob, if only I had this for 23.5 hours to Santiago!!
