Well I have finally made it to Rio and the end of my South American trip. Rio is absolutely amazing, it really is the party capital of the world. It has this undescribable vibe here. Its been pretty mad here at the moment with the World Cup, they are literally obsessed. For Brazilīs first match all the shops shut, fire works and flares were going off everywhere and after the match street parties broke out everywhere. It was so much fun Phee, Kitty, Lau and I were partying with locals until all hours. The beach here is also very entertaining, all shapes and sizes wearing as little as possible, I could sit all day and forever be entertained. Besides from the beach there is loads more to do, we have been hang gliding, visited the Christ and Sugar Loaf Mountain. Hang gliding was amazing, you hand glide over the city and then land on the beach
Well thats enough on Rio, Ive been in Brazil for a few weeks now and covered quite a lot. Our first destination in Brazil was Foz do Iguazu, we spent three nights here. When we first arrived in Brazil we could once again feel its heavy Western Influence and there were Havaianaīs everywhere. We spent a full day at the Falls and this was probably one of the best days i have had in South America so far, it was amazing. We took a helicopter flight over the falls, which was absolutely spectacular. After this we took the walk right along the falls, the falls from the Brazil side were far more spectacular than those from the Argentina side. The next day I had to go to the doctor, as I had been quite sick and they told me I had Gripe Disease. My nails started to fall off, half my face was tingly and I had a horrible cough. Im better now though, but it was pretty gross for a while.
Our next place was Bonito, it was this cute little town
From the Pantanal we went to Paraty, which is this wicked little coastal town. Here I also had another one of my best days on the trip. We went out on a yacht and cruised around the islands for a full day, we pretty much partied and drank the day away. It was a really good way to end the tour.
We had a little bit of scary incident here after the Australia and Brazil Match and found out how crupt the police in Rio really are. We were coming home from a street party after Brazil won, there was about ten of us. We were stoped by two under cover police and accussed of having drugs. Obviously we did not, however they said we would be taken to the Police Station if we did not pay them off
So Im still Rio and going to spend my final days in South America at the Il Grande Islands. I will be sad to leave South America, Ive had a fantastic time here, met so many beautiful people, and experienced so many wonderful memories to last me a lifetime. However I am looking forward to heading to Mexico and central America soon, as I do feel the need to move on now.
I hope everyone is well, I love you all so much and miss you terribly.
Love Always and forever Abbie
