Well we finally made it to Peru and meet up with our tour. It has been really good so far we have only been on the tour for 6 days and have already seen so much. Peru is so enchanting, it is really fascinating. I am really enjoying learning all about the Inca´s and the Nazca´s, they were so spiritual and advanced for their time, I can really see how the Spanish destroyed South America, its really quite sad.
We met up with the group on Saturday, everyone is around our age and is either English or Australian. We left Lima early on Sunday morning and headed south to the desert. We spent the afternoon hooning around on Sand Buggies in the dunes and Sandboarding, it was so much fun. That night we camped out in the Sand dunes and had a Pisco Sour party, it was one of the best nights Ive had in South America so far, it was really fun
On monday we travelled to Nazca, it was so fascinating. We saw the Nazca lines, I was fortunate enough to see all of the lines from an aero plane. I got a really cheap deal as there was one spot left on the plane and they offered it to me. Its really paying off being able to speak quite a lot of Spanish here. It was pretty amazing fro the plane I saw the whale, monkey, alien, spider and many more. All of the lines are joint together with larger connecting lines. The whole time you are just wondering how the hell did the Nazcas get it so perfect all of those centuries ago, it really is a miracle. I watched a video on it before I went on the plane to learn all about the history. I did not realize how amazing there history is, actually under all of the Snad dunes in the Nazca region is a buried city, full of pyramids and mummies. The history is just so amazing. The next morning we went to visit one of the Cemetries full of mummies, half of them still with their hair and skin. It is pretty sad though, you can see just bones everywhere from when the Spanish came and dug it all up searching for gold
One Tuesday afternoon we stayed at the Incas Port and camped on the beach. This actually the start of the Inca Trail. It is very random it kind of like a desert on the beach with ruins from the Inca´s. It is pretty special, with so much history, I really enjoyed it. We went exploring around the ruins and saw more bones and the remains of the Incas houses.
We are now in Aeroquipa, it is the second largest city in Lima. It is a nice city we were just out exploring today and got stuck in the middle of a big protest, it was pretty funny. We will be in Cuzco in a few days, I cant wait, it is going to be amazing to do the Inca Trail.
So I hope that everyone is well, where ever you are. I will make an update after the Inca Trail.
Stay safe, love you all.
