Where I stayed
We journeyed to Montegiorgio from Rome. First off a 3hr train to Ancona, then an hours wait and then a regional train to Porto San Giorgio where our private transfer picked us up and took us to our accommodation not far from the Villa where Rosie & Blair and their families were staying. Montegiorgio is a very small little town and we were starving for some lunch after our travels. Luckily we found the one place serving food in the town still open during the late afternoon and devoured a delicious pizza. The hotel had a swimming pool so we spent our first afternoon reading by the pool and using google translate A LOT to converse with the hotel staff.
The next morning Shaun and Aunty Liz picked us up from our hotel and took us back to the villa
That evening everyone going to the wedding met up at a pizza restaurant in the small town of Grottazzolina. The pizza was amazing and just kept coming with so many different flavours. Definitely the best pizza I've had in Italy. With lots of us being teachers and having gone through teachers college the same time as Blair there were quite a few people I knew or had mutual friends with so it was nice to catch up with others and meet some new people too.
The next day was the wedding day. We met everyone at the villa and then we all boarded a bus to Petritoli for the wedding ceremony. Overlooking the rolling hills of the Le Marche region on a nice grassy courtyard area outside the town hall it was the perfect setting
Rosie and Blair organised an absolutely amazing time for all their guests and we were so glad we got to be a part of it and share this special day with them and some of our great friends.
