Got up 6:30am today and not feeling so well. We planned to remain at Chame the whole day to take rest and as well to see how the weather turns out. Morning was not so good for me - had quite a few runs to the loo and my diarrehea got worse. Luckily there is no stomach ache and/or vomiting.

After having garlic soup in breakfast, Dawa and myself went to the Community hospital here.  The doctor was reasonable and he gave me some medicine + ORS for rehydration. He asked me to take 4 tablets (each 500mg) at one shot - was bit skeptical, but took it and since than all is okay until now. So thanks to him. Skipped lunch, but there is local chicken for dinner..so have to see :) !

Didnt do a lot today. Was mainly indoors - uploaded pics on the blog and checked on happening GM news. Nothing big, but good that we got our 4Bn.

Weather is not shaping up good. It has been snowing for the last 4+ hrs. Its getting heavier now and we heard a chopper go by an hour before. Dawa just came back and said that the chopper went to rescue a climber given worsened weather conditions uphill. Also, this morning three climbers headed down. Hmm...not so good. I dont want to take too much risk - we may climb for another two days, maybe upto 3400mts and than see how it goes OR we may just decide to remain at Chame for another day. Dawa is an expert and will it to his recommendation.

This afternoon we went on to check as to why my room was so cold. We found out that all the walls are made of wood planks and all across the walls are gaps of upto 1 inch to 2inch between the planks. This is an easy passage for the cool breeze given my room was in the corner. So tonight am going to stay in Dawa's room.

Hope everyone had a great new year and I enjoyed it too ! Love to all and all the best for 2009

Tomorrow we will be heading to Lower Pisang and than on to Manang day after. Internet access is only available in Manang so will post updates in two or three days. Until then take care !

Chame
Take care, Asif. Hope you're not considering to leave 'markings' along the trek if you've not recovered from the diarrehea. Get some good rest lah!

I really enjoyed reading about your journey - something which I don't think I'll be able to do this life time! - Rene
