We made it safely to Hong Kong after a long day of travel.  Immediately we welcome the ease of traveling through Hong Kong.  Everyone here seems to know English and the public transportation is great.  We took a train into the city almost directly to our hotel.  We are staying at this nice hotel with a roof top pool and gym.  This is our little "haven" before we head to Nepal to hike Everest.  We decided to spoil ourselves in anticipation of the impending hike.  Unfortunately I think it is just making us want to stay in nicer places instead of getting us prepared for our hike.  Last night we took a nice bottle of wine up to the roof top pool and relaxed under the stars.

Hong Kong is an amazing city.  For those of you who have not been here, it is definitely worth going to.  There is so much to see, so much to do and the city is so lively.  We have four full days here which we are already thinking is not enough.  On our first day we went and had a tailor custum make suits, dress shirts and a knee length "Channel" coat.  How fun...  Lets just hope the tailor is honest and actually ships it home to us.  It is a little unnerving to give someone all this cash and trust him to ship the final product home.  Lets see, we may come home as "suckers" but hey that is all part of the traveling experience.  You bargain, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.  Lets hope that wedding money did not get lost in transaction.

Welcome back to Civilization
I know it isn't high adventure prep .... Hong Kong I think fits your bill right now. Don't worry about the suits, this is common practice even when they come to the US ... they take all this cash or credit or whatever and weeks later you get this wadded up bundle shipped over. I remember the first time, scratched my head and my Chinese buddy said, 'one dry cleaning and you will be amazed.' I was and hopefully you will be too. Wine on the rooftop under the stars in Hong Kong ... ahhhhh ... we can only imagine. Sounds delightful.
