This is a quick flight, only 2 hours.  If you have not been to Charlotte before, their airport is about this size of John Wayne.  I depart from the plane, hit the restroom, and grab my bags.  I am glad that they both arrived.  Now I am supposed to meet the production manager of our tour at the Avis rental counter, but he is not there.  I am not sure what he looks like, but he did leave me a message saying that he was wearing a stripped shirt and cacky shorts.  After looking around and finding no one matching that description, I head over to the Avis lot on their shuttle.  I did forget to mention that as soon as I stepped outside to catch the shuttle, it hit me, THE AIR!  Blow dryer against the face!  Hot, 89 degrees and humid 90%.  DAMN!!!  Welcome to the South, "God's Country."  I wait around for the stripped shirt, cacky shorts Whitney Wilcoxson, and do not see him arrive.  So, I text and call him after getting his number from our Crew Manager, Jason hart.  As I am waiting, I get a text message from Jason saying, "8am tail light tomorrow from the hotel...Will do T3 at the site before open.  Hope all is well, Jason."  I then go to the counter and ask if Whitney has picked up his car yet, and just as I am asking he arrives in the minivan.  You can tell he got a little sun after his 2 week fishing trip in Florida, Gulfside.  It takes us about 30 minutes to drive to the hotel in Kannapolis (suburb of Charlotte, and yes, I have not heard of it before either).  During the drive I ask Whitney what Jason's text message means.  He explains to me that you must be in the trucks at 8am and ready to go.  The T3 is a brief meeting with our crew before the actual tour begins.  We arrive at the hotel and check in.  I go up to my room 322 and unpack.  After I unpack, I call Jason to let him know that I am unpacked and ask if anyone is getting together for dinner tonight.  I do not hear back.  So I head downstairs to check my email in the front lobby.  As I am checking my electronic mail, I see Whitney and he gives me the keys to the minivan so I can head to Walmart.  I pick up some "Tour Shorts" aka Dickies shorts in Dark Navy Blue, some snacks for my room, decaf tea, and some honey.  I head back to the Fairfield Inn and turn in for the night.  Tomorrow it begins.  THE TOUR.
