Okay everyone, we'll start with Monday. Here's how it was supposed to go down.

We were all gonna wake up around 6 AM to leave on a four hour bus ride to Paracas, which is a boat tour to an island filled with thousands of tropical birds, because Peru is the country with the largest species of birds in the whole world. This place also has tropical penguins and sea lions. So we decided this four hour drive there would be worth it.

Here's how it actually went down.

The bus driver showed up an hour and 15 min late, so we stood outside on the curb for a good solid hour. It wasn't our usual 45 passenger bus that gave each of us plenty of room to sprawl out, either. This was a 20 passenger bus for 19 of us. So we all crammed in this tiny bus for four hours (there AND back) and did our best to sleep a little bit. No big deal right? Well turns out the bus driver didn't even know how to get there and started stopping for directions every five minutes when we started getting close, which turned a four hour ride into five. Still cool, still cool. Nope, not cool. Once we got there, we realized the last tour of the day left an hour before. So we were stuck there with nothing to do. Needless to say, we were not happy campers.

Fortunately, there was a beach! We turned a terrible situation into a pretty good one. Team bonding on the beach, complete with sand sculptures and artsy jumping pics. And some dogs came to play with us so thats cool right? To top it all off, some cops stopped our bus on the way home because they wanted some pics with gringos. La policia estan tu amigos!

The next day was our last day with the full team! We went to a local park in Lucyana and had a blast. Played soccer and lost to the Peruvians, but beat them in an intense championship of volleyball! USA USA USA! We also had a little help from Mexico. Thanks Marissa!

This park also had horseback riding and a mini zoo! We were all over that. This was one sweet park. After that though was a bummer. Lots and lots of goodbyes. Half of our team left to go to the airport while the other half of us stayed behind for our flight to Cusco in the morning. We also had to say our goodbyes to lots of awesome relationships made with Peruvians. These are awesome people and I was so sad to leave them. Hopefully next year I'll see em again!

The final nine of us made it to Cusco this morning at 11, and we have spent most of the day walking around and sight-seeing. Tomorrow's the big day! Waking up at 3 AM to head off to Machu Picchu! Adios amigos
