Today we had a slow start as I hadnt much energy. Even Alexander was slightly affected by a few forkfulls of my pasta :(
Alexander fixed the camera, we brought our clothes to the laundry and caught a bus to Tabay to visit the hot springs. We figured it would ease the muscle ache from horse riding.
After a 1km hike uphill, we found a place that might be a thermal baths but the gate was closed. We continued and asked a local woman walking her cow where the agua termales were. For 10Bfs (we were robbed) she directed us down a woodland path through shrubbery to what turned out to be a river pool of rocks and silt. Natural pool, it definately was! So after soaking waist deep, overlooking bamboo forest for 30mins we washed off the silt, towelled and redressed. Going back down the steep road was as difficult as hiking up it! I needed an icecream! We got the bus back, collected the laundry and enquired with Eli if he had any tours leaving soon but it sounds like business dries up in January. So we decide it is time to leave nice, safe Mérida and get the bus to Ciudad Bolivar all the way on the other side of the country. For safety we dine at the Posada restaurant. It was delicious! Hopefully future meals will be as great!
