Well, here I sit three days from departure, with my emotions wavering between excitement and anxiety. I am not looking forward to packing, mostly because I KNOW that I will inevitably take too much. I've never packed for a three month trip before...who knows, maybe it will be easier than packing for two weeks. I have been anticipating this trip for about a year now, so the fact that I am now a mere three days away from doing it is a bit surreal. Life has thrown a few curve balls in the last week and proven to me that the best laid plans are sometimes not to become reality. Adjusting to the fact that one of my best pals is now not going to be there has been a tough reality to accept, for many reasons. While there will be a giant hole where her lively, spirited, take life by the horns person would be, she will be there in spirit. I will live it up for her! (and, well...for me too).
Random things I look forward to: not driving a car for three months and eating lots of gelato.
Things I don't look forward to: the value of my dollar being about equivalent to the Mexican peso. I may have to choose food over shoes.
