Left at 11 am. Arrived at 9pm (11 hours)
We Got the bike welded in the morning and got a large ghetto-fabulous speaker plus amp. We wired the system up and we were off in style. Well frankly we were both a little embarrassed but having music while driving was nice.
We drove up to this little village surrounded by land formations, a little bit like in Guanxi province next to Guilin, or like in Halong bay in north Vietnam

. It was like large popsicles sticking out of the ground and reaching right up to the clouds. The kind of thing you see in traditional Chinese paintings. We wanted to spend the night there and go visiting the area but it was very touristy and a total rip off. Instead we took a couple of photos and drove to our next destination some 200 km away. The drive was great, beautiful winding roads with mountains and lakes on either side. At one point we noticed the battery was not charging and we knew there was a change: we would not make it to Fenghuang without the lights. Then it started to rain and that was enough for us to decide to stay in the nearby town and do the last 50 km the following afternoon. As always when we start working on the bike, dozens of Chinese come to watch. Samvit was quite happy to work on it himself but the woman from the hotel insisted in calling a friend, the friend came and together we fixed it. I was very surprised when he asked to get paid.The people there were very nice. The woman trying to help us with the bike was a policewoman and was the daughter of the hotel's owner. She cooked dinner for us and offered bananas...It was nice to see how sometimes Chinese can be helpful!

Ce matin, après une bonne nuit de sommeil et l'esprit tranquille (car nous avions bien réparé la moto la veille -jusqu'à tard une fois de plus-), nous sommes retournés chez notre mécano (celui de la petite rue) pour faire souder la partie supérieure de la roue qui était en train de se casser et pour installer « une sono » sur le bike

! Eh oui, vous avez bien lu, une baffle connectée à la batterie et à laquelle on peut connecter nos I pods ! Ca nous a pris beaucoup plus de temps que prévu Nous voici donc tels de parfaits kéké marseillais, avec musique à donf (n'est ce pas Lanou) sur les routes zigzagantes en direction de Feng Huang, ancien village du Hunan, à environ 200 km de Jiang Jia Jie.Nous avons d'abord fait un détour par le village de Zhang Jia Jie, car nous pensions visiter ce site vraiment magnifique mais c'était vraiment trop cher et trop touristique et ça nous aurait trop retardé ! Le village est au milieu d'immenses rochers qui sortent du sol et touchent les nuages... Comme dans le Guanxi près de Guilin, ou bien dans la baie d'Along au Vietnam. Nous avons donc repris la route pour la prochaine étape dans le Hunan, Feng Huang.
Les routes étaient plutôt agréables jusqu'à la tombée de la nuit où l'on s'est malheureusement rendu compte que notre batterie ne se rechargeait pas comme il fallait ! Il était clair que nous n'allions pas pouvoir arriver à Feng Huang ce soir-là ! Nous nous sommes arrêtés à 50km de notre supposée destination. L'hôtel que nous avions choisi n'était pas très luxueux, mais les gens là-bas était très sympathiques. La femme, fille du propriétaire, était policière et nous a préparé à manger, et nous a mis à l'aise...C'était sympa de voir qu'ils y avait de chinois serviables sur notre chemin !
