SuSong hotel- The mechanic- Susong hotel

14 hours at the mechanics. We though we would never see the end of it. From past experiences with Chinese mechanics, it's best not to leave your bike there unsupervised. There was little discussion what the problem was. There was a problem coming from the final drive (as all BMW bike designs, there is no chain, instead there is a crank shaft and a final drive, just like in a car). The other problem is that this was the only bike to have this system and the mechanic hadn't seen a bike like that in 10 years. Samvit thought he needed to have apart sent from Shanghai, but amazingly enough after a few hours of searching in the city he came back with the spare parts, that looked about ten years old.
Then he proceeded to take everything apart, which was very difficult which at time involved cutting of parts. Anyway, few hours later the back of my bike was in 1000 pieces and now it had to be hammered and screwed back together. After several hours, finally he got all the pieces to match and the bike fit back tougher (we hope because there were still a few parts that were not used in the reassembly...). There was a small wobble in the crank shaft because of all the hammering it endured hut that could not be felt while test driving.
While Samvit stayed with the sidecar, Karine was going here and there to try to fix the few things that we needed fixed! We found clear glasses for 2 yuans, a pipe, and a few things we needed for he bike... and of course food and fruits to feed the poor Sam who was waiting with the bike!
We think there was a great sense of pride from the mechanic and his workers and we felt that they had done quite a good job so Sam asked them if they could repair the engine cover that was damaged in the accident the previous day. Sure enough,
At the end of the day they couldn't help themselves to give the bike an overall check and actually found a few parts that needed replacing. They only asked for a little bit of money but we gave them a bit more, because they really worked well! Hopefully we won't need to stop at the mechanic for a while.

14 heures chez le mécanicien!!
La journée n'en finissait plus...Vraiment on n'en voyait plus la fin.
D'après nos expériences passées chez les mécaniciens chinois, on a appris qu'il valait mieux ne pas laisser notre véhicule seul avec « ces techniciens du chaos ! » et être là si possible pour superviser.
Après une rapide inspection de la moto, le problème était clair, notre ?? n'était pas clair ! (comme tous les design de BMW il n'y a pas de chaîne, c'est comme sur les voitures.)
Un autre problème s'ajoutant à celui -ci était que dans cette petite ville de SuSong, nous étions la seule moto avec ce système et qu'ils n'avaient pas eu à réparer un engin de la sorte durant ces 10 dernières années ! A ce moment Samvit commençait à se dire qu'il aller falloir se faire envoyer une pièce de rechange de Shanghai, mais par un miracle inattendu, après des heures de recherches dans les alentours, le mécano super sympa, nous à sorti « de derrière les fagots » la pièce de rechange tant espérée ! En effet, elle avait bien l'air d'avoir au moins 10 ans d'âge !
Commença alors le démontage fastidieux de l'arrière de la moto : dévisser, couper, taper... le pauvre engin a tout vu ! Quelques heures plus tard l'arrière du side-car était en mille morceaux ! Après quelques heures de travail laborieux, la moto était de nouveau en un seul morceau !
Pendant que Samvit restait avec la moto pour checker et superviser les opérations, Karine quant à elle faisait des allers-retours hôtel-mécanicien, et arpentait la rue de long en large pour essayer de régler les quelques petites choses qui nous restaient à régler : trouver des lunettes pour conduire la nuit, un tuyau, recharger les téléphones portables.... Ils avaient seulement un bureau «china mobile » dans toute la ville capable de faire cette opération... heureusement il n'était pas si loin de notre épicentre : le mécanicien !
Et évidemment n'oublions pas de la nourriture et des fruits pour nourrir notre pauvre Samvit qui attendait avec la moto !
Le mécanicien et ses apprentis étaient très fiers d'avoir pu achever un travail si difficile, donc Sam leurs demanda de vérifier le reste de la moto ! A la fin ils n'ont pas pu s'en empêcher, ils ont fait un check up total de la moto et ont changer toutes les parties qui avaient besoin d'être changer !
A la fin au moment de payer, c'était si peu que l'ont a décidé de leur donner un peu plus parce qu'ils avaient si bien travailler !
Espérons que l'on n'aura plus besoin de s'arrêter chez un mécano pour un moment...
