Day 6: 21st April 2009, Tuesday
Time: 9am EST
: St. Thomas, USVI

We had to start the day with packing our bags!! In the excitement of traveling to St. Croix the earlier day, we had completely forgotten about packing our bags to head back to Milwaukee... So in about 2 hours we packed, got ready checked out of the Resort and headed towards Charlotte Amalie for some last-minute souvenir shopping! [Now for people who must have read all my previous entries will notice the number of times I have talked about shopping in this blog itself, but everyone needs to understand what a picky shopper I am! I only buy stuff which really appeals to me and only after I am satisfied with a feeling that I have looked at mostly all variety that is available out there and then have made my choice. That's the way I am!] So on the last day, we bought some Caribbean spices (the jerk seasoning being the most important one!), a beautiful double-sided Caribbean folk ragdoll, a moko jumbie (or stilts walker/dancer) miniature, some fridge magnets, keychains and postcards...and ofcourse the Cruzan Rum, pineapple flavored!
Then we rushed to the airport, since we had to catch a flight in just 45 minutes! After going through the mandatory airport procedures and getting to my seat, I got to chat with my neighbor, an interesting lady, an Art Historian, who was visiting the Virgin Islands to get a work permit for a project she was working on. Our next flight was after 2 hours so we had some food at the airport and after getting onto the next flight, I don't know when I dozed off till it landed on the O'hare airport.

Added to this entry are some more photos from the journey, which I thought would add more interest and entertainment..!! :) So until my next blog, its bye-bye from a_travebug!
