Day 1.

We departed the house at 5:10am EST. Weather looked bad as there were thunderstorms and lightning to be seen in the distance, but fortunately we only had two short sprinkles on our way South to Key West.

The ride North was long, boring and very very hot. Rusty's bike registered top temperature of 99 degrees !!! Where the turnpike connects with I-75 at the Wildwood exit what of all things did we find crossing the road ???  No, not a chicken ....... a 3 foot alligator !!!!  No joke !!! That was a sight to remember. May he rest in pieces with the convoys of trucks coming up behind me.

We ended the day at 8:30pm EST in Lake Park, GA (just north of the Florida border) at a Super 8 motel.

We traveled a grand total of 748 miles this day.
