I would like to firstly thank you guys for reading my blog, I didnt realise it would get this big but I guess I did a fair bit over the last 4.5 months.
Secondly I'd like to say that my life is pretty amazing at the moment and want to take this opportunity to thank everyone in my life for making that possible.
Remember if you're not living life on the edge, you're taking up too much room.
On my way home
I am currently 35000 feet in the air, travelling at a ground speed of 960km/h and listening to Pete Murray, his See the Sun album and can't think of a better time to draft my final blog of this amazing adventure I embarked on at 1am on the 23rd April 2012. Kyle is asleep next to me with Arj Barker playing in his ears and we have around 3hrs left in our 14hr flight from Santiago to Sydney. I could use this opportunity to recap the highlights of my trip, the amazing places I've been, things I've seen, heard and experienced or perhaps I could talk about the amazing people I've met along the way. But I'm not going to do that because I feel telling those stories in person is going much more entertaining and enjoyable for all involved. Instead I'm going to talk about the future a bit and where to now for Lukey B, A Baker @ Home. This time away had taught me many things about the world around us but also taught me a thing or two about myself. I have used this time to reflect on my professional ambitions and now look forward to the challenge that will inevitably face me when I return to work. I have also used the time to reflect on my personal life and what's important. Many people thought I would go on this trip and come back just dying to leave on my next adventure but that's not the case. Don't get me wrong I have many future trips planned but more than that my trip has taught me how amazing my life in oz really is. I am truly blessed to have the most amazing friends and family to go home to and cannot wait to see everyone again. I'm looking forward to simple things like seeing my puppy, babysitting Tannar and Amitee, a family BBQ for jess's bday, heading to the races with the crew and seeing Tommy and Steph's new crib. And that's all in the first 4 days of being back. Life has its up and downs, whilst on holidays I lost my Uncle and it's killed me not to be able to with my family at that time, but I also took comfort in the knowledge that my family would be there for each other in that difficult time. But life also has amazing highs like Matt and Jess's wedding that I got to share with my aforementioned incredible family and friends.
