. After we dusted ourselves off and emptied the sand from our shoes and pockets we headed back to Cia to have lunch and then it was time to make our 3 hour drive back to Lima.
A long but pretty amazing day. Penguins, booze and sand boarding all in one day.

A Baker Abroad
So on our second full day in Lima we decided to do a day trip down to Paracas, Cia and Pisco a few hours south of Lima. We woke very early, around 4am to meet our private driver/tour guide and make the 3 hour drive to Paracas, our first stop of the day. Here we met our first guide that would take us on a boat trip out to the Ballestas Islands where we saw an amazing array of birds, including some adorable penguins and also some massive sea lions up close which was amazing. We then headed back to Paracas to once again meet up with our driver and head to our next stop in Pisco where we learnt how they make Pisco liquor and also tried a number of variations. We then bought some Pisco cream (like baileys) and some amazing chocolates and were once again on the road to our next stop the sand dunes inland from Cia. Here we went for a ride in some awesome sand buggies and then went sand boarding on the worlds largest sand dunes. There are some funny videos and pictures from this including me falling over than I'm sure people will enjoy
