Hola! Buenos Dias/tardes/noches depending when you read this. So I have now left Barcelona after a fantastic 6 nights there and I am on a tour around the Catalonia region. Which is basically a state of spain, but don't ever say that to a Catalan person. I'm not going to give a history lesson but basically up until 1711 Catalonia was not part of Spain. A long time ago it was part of the Aragon empire and there are lots of people in this region that don't want to be part of Spain now.

Day 1
We headed off from Barcelona to the not too distant town of Vic. Vic like a lot of Europe has roman history dating back circa 2500 years with buildings still standing over 2000 years old. More recently in 850ad there was big battles between the Muslims and the Catholics and then in 1711 the catalan vs the spanish. Not a big town but has some nice old buildings and a very long running market that runs every Saturday and Tuesday. After lunch we jumped back on the bus and headed for our next stop in Figueres to see the Dali museum. Dali if you don't know him was a crazy surrealist artist. He did paintings, sculptures, jewelry, pretty much anything and it was all a bit mental. It was interesting but clearly I'm no surrealist enthusiast. After Figueres it was off to Ginora where we spent the night in a nice hotel, had a fantastic meal and rested up for day 2 of our tour.

Going to do little blogs for each day so I don't forget things and I can talk about all the little towns we go to :) didn't take any pics on my phone for this one but have some good ones on my camera.

Next time you get into an argument with me, remember if I agreed with you, we'd both be wrong.
