Headed north of Auckland today. Saw our first (of many) kauri trees. These two were 600 and 800 years old. What magnificent trees!
We loved our cottage - probably the nicest spot we'll stay at before we travel home. It was cloudy and blustery - definitely not beach weather which was too bad because it would have been fun to kayak the estuary on the lookout for stingrays. As it was we settled for a fabulous scallop entree and Dore main dinner after Richard swan in the salt water pool. The golf course looked to be wonderful, but the pro shop was locked up at 4 pm on Sunday when Richard went to try and play.
