Just when I thought it couldn't get any better - it did! When we left Nelson we visited a wonderful natural refuge, Rabbit Island, and then enjoyed some culture in the Hoglund Glass Studio. Arrived at the Resurgence in time to book a water taxi so we could do a 4 hour (13 km) hike in the Abel Tasman National Park. Boy did we enjoy the pool and hot tub at the Resurgence after - especially as we also checked out the place they named the Lodge after. The lodge truly in 5 Star Nature - thanks again Susan and do for the advice.
Our second day we spent on board a 10 metre power catamaran, "Taranui", and we were the only passengers! We further explored the park and marine reserve, kayaking with seal pups and hiking again.
Our hikes crossed through native bush overlooking beach after beach of golden sand lapped by azure coloured water. I've never seen so many kayaks. Yes, the pictures you see of this area do it justice. And the food in the lodge was fabulous. I didn't want to leave.
