Fit for a Queen in Queenstown

Happy Birthday Domenic - wish you were here enjoying this fabulous country with us. Left glacier country behind this morning and after crossing the longest single land bridge (of which there are many) in the country at Haast we headed across the Southern Alps to Queenstown via Wanaka. This area with two very large narrow lakes - Wanaka and Hawea - really reminded us of the Okanagan. Can't begin to describe our descent into Queenstown on the scenic "zig-zag" route where turns were to be negotiated at maximum 15 kph and it was under much needed construction rehab. Our B&B is perfect - self contained accommodation right in the heart of Queenstown. It even has a delightful cat - Cocoa!
