We walked back over the bridge and headed towards the funicular, but it was too busy. Then we made our way back towards our apartment, but stopped on the way for Costa Coffee, some shopping at Tesco, and some fresh made chips. We took a rest and then went to the Bakeshop for dinner which was very yummy!
Next up was a walk with a homeless person, a new local initiative. It was very interesting at first but went on for several hours. We had to cut it short because we were all exhausted. We didn't get back to the apartment until 11pm. And now I have a cold :(
We were up and out the door by 8am to get a jump on all of the tourists. We made our way through the main square and through the tourist shops to arrive at the Charles Bridge. It was a lot easier to enjoy without the throngs of people. After some pictures we walked up to Prague Castle. We walked around and saw the church and waited for the church tower to open at 10am. We were first up the 287 steps on the tight circular staircase to beautiful views of Prague. It was again nice to be there with only a few other tourists. We stopped for a coffee and a treat before we made our way through some of the royal gardens and the back to the entrance to wait for the hanging of the guard ceremony at the castle. It wasn't like Buckingham Palace but it was still fun to see. After that it was time for lunch, Italian style! This was the best meal so far - carbonara.
