After being teased with the smell of pizza the night before, we set off for some slices in the Centrum. We weren't disappointed! After that it was a hunt for some delicious apple strudel! We rejected a few strudels when they didn't look up to snuff, and finally settled on a place under one of the museums. This strudel was worth the wait!
Another long day ended back at Hotel Mozart around 10pm. We're all packed and ready to head to Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic!
We were up and out of the hotel by 8:30 again today, but today we were on the train to Bratislava, Slovakia! We arrived after an hour on the train and made our way to the old town which is full of beautiful old buildings with shops and cafes. One of the most endearing parts of Slovakia are the many little statutes that you find around town, including a paparazzi and a man working in a man hole. We walked up the steep climb to the castle which looks out over the town and the Danube. After that we made our way to the new town to a Slovakian pub for lunch. Most of our group tried typical Slovakian food, including smoked sheep's cheese and dumplings. After stuffing ourselves we set out to burn the calories around the old town, seeing sights and doing some shopping (and of course taking pictures!). We stopped at a special coffee shop near the end of our stay for a snack of cakes and coffees, and then made our way back to the train and back to Vienna.
