Although, today wasn't all that exciting, it was a busy one. In the morning we did laundry, and cleaned the boats and gear from the river trip. It was no easy task! The San Juan river is 40% silt at times, and it gets into every nook and cranny. After that, Allison and I began packing our backpacks for our next adventure, a 10+ mile trek down to Havasu Falls in the Grand Canyon. We will be camping overnight at the falls. The waterfalls are just outside of a small town called Supai on the Havasupai Reservation. There are no roads leading to the town, so the only way to get there is to hike in 8 miles or take a plane or helicopter. Sounds like Alaska. It's hard to believe such isolated towns still exist in the lower 48. We had a brief scare today when Allison's prized toenail turned up missing, but Allison found it in a ziploc bag in the trash. We won't be back from our hike until late Sunday, so don't worry if you don't hear from us until Monday or so. If they don't have roads in Supai they probably don't have wireless internet.

have fun...
Have a good time on the next leg of your adventure! I'm glad that the infamous toenail isn't permanently lost. I'm sure Allison would be disappointed and I'd be a little creeped out about where it went and when/where it would reappear.
Happy Hikers
Have fun on the next part of the adventure! I can't wait to see the pictures! Thanks Silas, for the update on the missing 'treasure'. So glad it was found safe and sound. And Allison - please don't show it to me later! Be safe and have a fun trip.
Crisis averted...
I am glad your prize was found. Wonder who threw it in the trash...Silas? Just kidding. I think that the fact that he let you store it in the bag with his camera means you two were meant to be together...
