Well, we made it to Flagstaff to Silas' dad's house last night after a long (but very scenic) drive from Telluride.  Actually, it wasn't really that long but I think the fact that we left Telluride a little later than we had been planning, and that it seemed to get dark sooner than we were expecting made it seem like it was a long drive.
On Monday night we stayed at a campground right in Telluride which was nice because we were able to just get our site and leave everything there and then walk around town some more.  It kept raining off and on pretty much that whole day and it was FREEZING that night.  Well, I thought it was cold anyway, but Silas didn't seem to think it was nearly as cold as I did.  When we woke up yesterday morning it was still pretty cold (there was frost on the ground) but it was totally clear and sunny.  So after we made breakfast (and coffee!) we went for a short hike up to Bridal Veil Falls.  It's a cool waterfall, and what I thought was even cooler is that there is a house right at the top of the falls with water coming down from either side of it.  Can you imagine living in a house at the top of a waterfall?  How cool would that be?
After our hike we headed back into town for some food.  Silas had been wanting to go to the burrito bus that he ate at a lot when he was living there.  It was really good- and not even just by burrito bus standards!
Our last stop before leaving town was back to the bookstore/coffe shop for some coffee, to charge up our electronics, and to check to see how many hits our travel log had so far.  Thanks guys!  We were excited to see that some of you were already checking and posting comments (mom!)  Oh yeah, one other thing that I wanted to do at the bookstore- finish reading Harry Potter!  I borrowed the new book from my friend Bev about a month ago and I was just 20 pages from finishing it when we left on this trip.  I didn't want to bring it along though, since it's so big, so I thought I'd just try to read a couple pages here and there when we were at bookstores.  Well, I just have the last chapter left now, so at least I know who lives and dies and all that- I won't say any more than that.
One last Telluride story- the first day we got there when we were trying to get into the campground but were told to come back after everyone from the festival packed up and left- we drove past a lady walking a dog (I think it was some kind of hound, Silas thinks it's a Terrier) and it went CRAZY!  It lunged at the bus almost pulling its owner into the street and it was barking like crazy.  We were laughing about it as we circled looking for a parking spot, and then...we drove past it again!  It did the same thing- barking and pulling on its leash while the owner tried to hold it back.  The funniest part of the story is that we saw it again the second day we were there as we were leaving the campground.  As we came closer we both recognized the dog about a split second before it freaked out and lunged at us again.  We didn't notice it doing that at any other vehicles that drove past...just us.
  More later....

3 entries!
I just need to tell you that I tried to post a message on your last travelogue and it wouldn't let me because you were still doing updates. So while mom and I are pretty close when it comes to slacking off at work, I'm pulling ahead a bit in the travelogue stalker department.

Glad you guys are safe and you're having fun!

never mind
Mom beat me this time. Don't tell her I said this, but she's even more of a stalker than I am ;)

I'm no slacker
I was home for lunch when I posted my comment, unlike Sarah who posted hers from work.

Question: Which bear is best?
Wow, it turns out this town is really boring without you! Your plants are alive and well, have no fear. I hope you guys are enjoying a fun, but safe, trip down the San Juan. I have been watching your Office dvds and snuggling up with Phoebe since you're not around to snuggle with. Kidding, Silas!
