Finally!  We're all caught up!  Oh yeah, and I've been meaning to mention...please ignore our map.  We're sick of messing with it- this is a travel site, so it's set up to go from place to place, it just isn't working for us since we're going somewhere then coming home.  Then going somewhere else, then coming home.  So please just ignore the map.
This last weekend we bought a truck!!  Silas has been wanting one since we were still in Missoula, and after we got here and saw that so many places are only accessible to vehicles with high clearance and 4wd, we've REALLY been wanting one.  So we've been looking on craig's list and even went to Flagstaff one weekend to take a look at a truck that his brother has at a house that he owns there, but up until last week, we hadn't really had any luck.  Then all of a sudden there were 3-4 late 80's-early 90's Toyota trucks for sale on craig's list all at the same time.  A couple of them were already sold, and another we couldn't get the seller to send us pictures, but there was one in Cortez that looked like it was in pretty good shape and was within our price range, so Silas got ahold of the guy and arranged for us to go and take a look at it.  It was just as advertised, the guy seemed like an honest guy, Silas liked it, so we bought it.
One thing that we hadn't been able to see from pictures was that there were TONS of bumper stickers on the back of the truck!  Some of them were kind of inappropriate too, so we decided that first thing in the morning we'd go out and take all the stickers off before all the neighbors saw them!  Removing the stickers ended up being kind of a pain in the butt- we got most of them off, I think there are still two on there, but all the bad ones are off!
Then we went to the car wash to clean it up and get all the goo-gone residue off!  Then we took it for a drive down to Indian Creek.  There are lots of roads down there that are only accessible to vehicles with high clearance and 4wd, so up until now, they've been off limits to us.  But not anymore!!  We drove out to Indian Creek Falls- it was so beautiful!  I had no idea that there was something like that out there!  It was actually kind of a big waterfall, bigger than you would expect out in the middle of the desert.  We were wishing we had brought stuff to swim in- it had been kind of cold and windy in Monticello, but it was HOT out there.  We also found lots of cool places to camp out there.  I'm already planning our camping trip out there- hopefully the weekend after next, so stay tuned for that entry!
Yesterday (wow, it's been a long time since I've been able to say that in an entry!)  we really wanted to hike- we hadn't done anything more than about a 3 mile hike in Durango since Memorial weekend.  So we decided to do the Kane Gulch hike on Cedar Mesa.  It was about 4 miles in to where Kane Gulch met up with Grand Gulch and there are some ruins right there where they meet.  It was a really nice hike and we were both feeling really good when we were done- 8 miles just doesn't feel like it used to!  I ALMOST want to hike in to Havasu Falls again to see how I'll feel afterwards now.  When we did it before I was so sore afterwards I could barely walk!!  But that was 22 miles in 2 days in Teva thong sandals!  (Here's a link to the travel blog we did for our road trip in 2007- Getting Lost in the American West in a '78 Volkswagen Kombi)  On second though, I don't think I'm ready to put myself through that again!

Junction ruins
The picture of the Junction ruins looks like a movie theater box office to me, haha! Is it possible they had theaters back then? You should have taken pictures of the inappropriate bumper stickers.
