Eric The camping site in Athens was next to a busy highway about 15 min. by bus to the centre of the City. Needless to say that I did'nt sleep for 3 nights as the relentless traffic never end, days and nights. From 6 pm right through 3 am. it becomes more like a racing track full of old cars and motorbikes with noisy exhausts or no exhaust at all weaving their way between noisy trucks at high speed.
Just like in Italy, people here are friendly and helpful whenever we ask for directions and information.
We visited the tourist things, in particular the Acropolis which is situated in the centre of the City high up on top of a hill from which you have a 360* view of the City.
A closer look into the City shows that the infrastructure has not kept up with the time and the people don't care much about their environment.
Total distance travelled so far: 3400 Km.
