Paloma Camping, Tarifa
Bloomin warm

We can see Africa! OK, so it's taken a bit longer to get here than we expected but we have covered 240kms in the last 4 days. Last night we stayed at a place just north of Barbate (on the Costa de la Luz) because when we got to Barbate the woman at the Tourist Information informed us that there was no camping in Barbate, so we'd have to go up the coast (in the opposite direction to where we wanted to go). So this morning having backtracked and eventually moved along the coast in the RIGHT direction imagine how fed up we were to find signs for camping!

Turned out, right next to the campsite we were at there was a club, which at 0830 this morning when we were having a coffee in anticipation of setting off, was spilling clubbers onto the street. The guy who owned the campsite tried to warn us off cycling, they all had cars and were still swigging down whatever they had been drinking all night. We managed to get to Barbate in one piece, but it was a bit hairy at times.

Anyway, having learned that we could in fact get a ferry from Tarifa to Tangier got all excited but then remembered that I had given Algeciras as my post restante address, so, we're going to Algeciras tomorrow, it's less than 30 kms so we can pick up post, if there is any, and catch a ferry to Tangier.

I completely forgot to mention that we found a card reader in Portugal, so we are now able to download our photos. Rather than try and catch up on the blog, I'm going to put the old ones on facebook and as we take new ones I'll include them in the blog. Although, I'm going to have to find an open connection to do the old ones, which, if Lonely Planet are to be believed, is not easy in Morocco generally. So prepare for some long silences (phew I hear you all sigh, thank goodness for that!)

OK, I'd like to leave you with more words of wisdom (to go with Dave's 'stay out of the soft stuff'). Yesterday I was hit in the face by a large insect (species unknown) while travelling at speed down a long hill. The welt it left on my face lasted for a couple of hours, so when cycling you should keep the shades on and your mouth shut!
