After our Fraser Island adventures we decided to take few days to unwind going down the Sunshine Coast. We began driving South to Noosa, having plans to do a canoe/rainforest trip. Upon our arrival in Noosa we were disappointed to find out that we could not book the trip until Friday, the day Tricia was arriving in Brisbane. In search of a fun Saturday night out we headed down to Hastings Street and spend the night at Hungry Jacks Bar and Grill and Zachary's Pizzeria/ Bar.
We parked Rex at the end of Hastings Street and woke up to a warning on our front dash explaining where not to park.... OOPS.
We had breakfast on Main Beach in Noosaville and spent the morning hiking the Coastal Track in Noosa National Park, making stops at Dolphin Point and Hells Gates.
After speakign to a kind woman at the info center we learned about an eventful afternoon down in Peregian Beach.
We spent the afternoon at the open air markets and listening to live music performed by locals. After a beer at the local Lifesaving Surf Bar, we spent the evening at a local car park, Point Arkwright.
On Monday morning we woke up and explored the beach towns of Maroochadyore and Mooloolaba. After learning about a wine and cheese trail through the Hinterland Valley we decided to head inland for the afternoon and evening.
We stopped at Maleny Mountain Winery, Colin James Fine Foods and Dairy, Maleny Dairy Farm and Settlers Point Winery in Montville.
Before retreating for the night we stopped at Mapleton Falls and spent a quiet evening at Little Yabba Creek Picnic Park.
The following morning we continued our tour stopping at the Kenilworth Cheese Factory and downtown Montville for some shopping.
We spent the afternoon walking around Eumundi and spent the night at Browns Creek Rest Area. We got an early start the next day after hearing about the famous Eumundi Open Air Markets. After a morning of shopping we hopped back in Rex and headed to Brisbane where we would spend the next two nights and pick up our visitor..... TRICIA!
After scoping out Brisbane for the afternoon we found a home in the small town of Ashgrove at Newmarket Caravan Park.
We cooked a nice dinner and enjoyed a bottle of our new wine and headed downtown to Down Under Bar which turned out to be a wild Wednesday night out.
We spent Thursday checking out the city and hitting up local travel agents in search of our next adventures and destinations. We retreated early to bed that night in excitement of picking up Trish the folllowing morning at 6:05am! We greeted Trish with hugs, tears and a welcoming sign and looked forward to travelling down the Gold Coast together.
