Where I stayed
Regent Seven Seas Voyager
We are rocking and rolling a bit today, but my sea legs are holding out okay. We had a wonderful dinner in one of the fine restaurants last night. I had lobster, creamed spinach, twice baked potatoes, sauteed mushrooms and chocolate ice cream! The portions were huge and I could eat only a fraction of what was served to me. I cannot imagine what my body would look like if I spent 4 months on this ship.
We met the cruise director, Jamie, and his wife, Dana, last night and I confirmed my suspicion that they have "The Life." They spend about 7-8 months a year on the ship and then spend the rest of the year at their home in Michigan. They do not work when they are off the ship and they seem to really enjoy their time on board. They have been working together on ships since the 80s I believe. I confessed to Jamie that he was living my childhood dream of being "Julie the Cruise Director" from The Love Boat!
I am getting excited about our first stop, although I have been told there is not much there. I am sure it will be a beautiful island, notnetheless, and I am charging my camera battery so I can send all of you photos from Nuku Hiva in the Marquesas.
I miss all of my family and friends but feel very blessed to have this travel opportunity.
