We've been lying pretty low the last few days, dividing much of our time between the pool and the beach and socializing with our friends. The socializing has unfortunately been cut back a bit because little Ipek and Alp Doan both have been sick. They both went down on the same day, so we're all wondering where they got it. Luckily it seems to be a little person's virus and no one else has been ill. Still, it's kind of a bummer. No late night parties when there are sick babies--all the moms have to stay home.

This morning we headed to Yalikavak for our last market day. I felt myself getting a little choked up at the notion that we won't be able to shop there any more will all of the beautiful produce. Strange, but true. Someday I'd really like to be here when the pomegranites are ripe--4 weeks later, I'd estimate.

We dropped off some of our extra food with Burchin this morning. Luckily I did a pretty good job not overbuying and didn't have too much to spare. The surplus salami got cut up and fed to the puppies. We weren't feeding them, but everyone else was, so why not? Burchin invited us over for a late breakfast tomorrow before we go to the airport--I just can't get over the warm hospitality here.

We scooted down to Gundogan where I tried to get a haircut (they were booked) and we got Josh and Alex shorn. They both got gelled as well. Josh was horrified and demanded to go home and rinse it out. Alex loves it and is considering keeping his new do permanently.
