The day began at 6.30 when Bertie started squeaking to go out. This is not a novel occurrence. Issy seemed to be missing and Bertie obviously hoped she'd be taken by wolves but was eventually discovered under the duvet. Walked hounds round Tibbie's camp site in dressing gown and clogs. Pyjama trousers fell down as waist elastic failed when Issy made one of her regular bids for freedom. It's like something out of Terry and June living with these dogs. Roll on Friday 13th. Toyed with going back to bed but resisted that urge and put on some trousers instead.

Went for a walk through the sailing club and along the southern edge of St Mary's Loch. Plenty of lambs about and Bertie was to be observed strutting about and looking fierce. All down to yesterday's attack I should think. Still it seemed to work as all the available lambs looked suitably timid. Yesterday's one must have been a rogue, probably on the run from some secret military lab - When Lambs Go Bad

Spent the morning writing up yesterday's blog during which we were over flown twice by something so fast I have no idea what it was - probably one of ours. Probably. Luckily we don't have a microwave or they'd have blown us right to Mars. Phew, what a jape!

On trying to start Beddie nothing happened. I suspect that the main battery has been knackered by being run flat a few weeks ago followed by some alternator trauma which is now behind us. Anyway just like any good spacecraft Beddie has at least two of most important things and we happily removed the leisure battery that usually powers the lights, fridge, water pumps etc and use that to jump start the Perkins. Looks like we had our glitch for this trip.
