We headed out to the Harden gun club for some target practice with Mike's 22 rifle firing shorts and sub-sonics.
Here's the article that appeared in the local paper:
"If you have a competitive nature then the Boorowa Hunting & Handgun Club could be for you, offering a level playing field for all, in as much as you do not need a high level of fitness or agility like football or golf etc.
The Boorowa Hunting & Handgun Club will meet on the upcoming Thursday nights,
The 14th is the day the Sporting Shooters Association of Australia will begin the process of forming the Boorowa Branch of the SSAA. This is Australias largest association for Sporting Shooters and will bring together the Sporting Shooters from the Burrinjuck region. Many citizens of the Boorowa shire are keen to have their own representation and competitions that can rate on a local, State, and National scale.
With Sports Shooting being one of the fastest growing leisure time sports, the BH&HC is keen to introduce young shooters, via the Junior Development Program, to a safe and enjoyable sport that offers "a level playing field" to all competitors. Disabled persons are also encouraged to take part on this same level playing field.
The BH&HC is offering to prospective members a chance to gain their firearms licence Safe Shooting Course, FREE at the time of joining. A discount scale of fees is available for Families and Pensioners alike.
This week, members have again compared their personal best scores. Mike Crockford shot a 377 at ISSF Pistol, and an 88 at Bench Rest 22LR, with David MacDonald shooting a 68 at 22LR Bench Rest. Upon a rematch, David shot 52 against Mikes 45 despite horrific crosswinds at Harden. Sharilyn Clowes shot an 87 at 22LR Bench Rest, trumping her husband Brian on 79. Everyone blamed the strong winds for their results."
