Tips on petting a Giant Asian Forest Scorpion

When you come across a scorpion in the Cambodian jungle, resist the urge to pet it. We all know that they look so cuddly and cute, so resisting the urge will be difficult. Once you get past the 'leave me alone' tattoo on his forehead, the 2 giant claws that look like a body builder's biceps, the 9” spike on his back end, and the general ferociousness of it, you can proceed. The best thing to do is find a small stick to prod it with instead. This is safer, and more entertaining. Do make sure the stick is at least twice the length of the scorpion's body (I found out the hard way). However, the most important tip in petting a wild scorpion is: don't let your wife watch. She'll stand there in the jungle lecturing you about how dangerous it is! Blah, blah, blah...
