Took a short little kayak around outside out secluded bay to 'monkey point'. Brian had passed this the other day after diving and said there were hoards of monkeys. We knew there were quite a few in our area as we've seen them along the beach and near our hut, but I wanted to see them up close!

At first they were just blurs intermixed amongst the rocks, but then they started coming into view. And then more. And more. And more! I couldn't believe how many were in just one place. It's almost as if they were there just for show! All these other boats going past were stopping to take a look as well. We, of course, could get quite close being in a kayak. But once I saw them start to fight and bear their giant fangs I was worried that they may jump onto our boat looking for food!

Entertaining to watch, that is for sure! But why anyone would compare humans to them, I'm not sure. I would like to think that we are FAR beyond these creatures, more than what a few years of evolution can provide. The only real similarity I can see if the opposable thumbs! I'm sure these creatures are as common as squirrels to us and probably much more annoying! But for now, they are a novelty and I'm going to enjoy the few glimpses I can get, but not too close!
