Well, at least for us...Back away from all the bustle, we've arrived in a private stretch of shoreline with nothing between us and beyond. Little rustic beach huts are a jungle walk away from the main area and are perched up on a cliff top. Sounds of birds , cicadas and lizards fill our ears while exotic insects flick over nearby rocks and other reptiles sun themselves. The sun sets over the ocean outside out door.
However, it's probably not everyone's cup of tea. The hut is very rustic with wide slats in the walls and ceiling where our friends can come and visit at night. The front steps and porch are more than a little wonky and the toilets and shower are back down the jungle path. But we actually have electricity and a fan to blow around the holey mosquito net and keep us cool while we sleep. My old high school padlock serves as our door lock
A completely chilled restaurant has hammocks dangling over the edge near the water where the most beautiful breeze blows away heat. Don't forget, shoes off before you go into the restaurant, reception and toilet.
Brian's busy every evening with his headlamp scouting out lizards and geckos. Since it's the end of the rainy season, heat lightening lights up the sky in late afternoon and evening giving a beautiful show.
In the morning a monkey came and rustled about in the tree next to our little porch. Later, we may read in hammocks, snorkel off the shore, kayak, walk to waterfalls. The plan was to have a little relaxing 'vacation' before we start to 'travel', but I'm worried that this has set a standard we won't be able to change...Oh, however will we leave!
