Flag of Egypt  , Red Sea and Sinai,
Saturday, January 16, 2010

Deposited on the shore of the Red Sea in Dahab.  A town full of overpriced glowing beach front restaurants, loungers and cushioned chairs, smooth as silk salesmen, and beach bums.

Dive shops are every few feet and snorkelers pollute the water.  In this place where the weather is so fine, it's easy to simply work on the tan and snooze the days away.  Tough, huh?

But I'm only doing this under duress you must understand.  Brian is enrolled in a PADI Open Water Scuba Diving course (a lifetime dream that is in serious need of fulfilling).  So he's off full time studying and diving for the next few days.  I don't want to do too much on my own - especially with all of the Egyptian Casanova Salesmen trying to get foreigners to swoon with their offers of free perks:S  Aside from that, the real reason I'm confined to a beach chair is strictly medical.

I wanted to go for a little wade to cool down the other day, and on the way down the rocky shore, I slipped on a rock and twisted/sprained/broke by baby toe.  I don't know what it is and I don't care.  All I know is that it's ugly shades of blue and purple, swollen, and hurts like crazy to walk even short distances!  Plans of hiking up Mt. Sinai need to be put on hold until I can walk a little better.

So you see, I have no choice to rest with my foot up for a few more days...:D
