Tiny villages where all the houses are built with this beautiful sandy gold stone. Some have
Upon approaching the town of Snowshill, the air filled with the beautiful smell of lavender. Following that for awhile, I could finally see it: fields of purple and while varieties as well as many others as far a you could see in all directions! The town (blanketed in the smell of lavender) had free range chickens in the streets that wound almost over one another down a steep slope toward the center of town. I.e. the pub and the church.
Brian, out for a smoke, had a little conversation with him (as he was of course arriving at the pub) and found out that there were only 300 of these cars ever made, and only 60 left in running condition. Hardly larger than bathtub with pram wheels this had a crank and everything. Of course, the gent was quite chuffed with the attention and had no problems at all talking about his baby and having his photo taken!
Talking with the barkeep, we found out that this town was used for the opening scenes of the first Bridget Jones Diary and another part in the pub. I can’t wait to see the film again and watch through new eyes!
Then we made our way over to a falconry center to finally have Brian fulfill his dream of
A wonderful day exploring cute little villages. Tomorrow is London - quite a contrast to what we’ve experienced today!
