The terrain is flat (great for cycling when not in a head wind), but as a result there is little landscape to look at. Throughout the day we went through places like: Snaith, Goole, Torn, and Slanthorp. The kind of places that make you feel all warm and fuzzy just passing through them.
I’ve been feeling discouraged about cycling lately, and this made it worse
But as always, when we finally get the break at the end of the day, it all feels worth it. Getting to the last overpass, we couldn’t see the site although it was marked. Brian wanted to go to the Travelodge that we could see as he was just as exhausted as I after cycling into the wind all day. We saw a little gathering of caravans and went in to inquire. No luck. But someone did know of a little place just around the corner. Ca cute little farmer/butcher’s place was where we settled for the night. Only one other set of campers in the whole site - my kinda place! So cute, the key was in the door when we arrived, and he told us to pay in the morning - a whole 7 pounds!
