Great day of cycling through the Scottish Boarders.  Coasted through the beautiful Tweed Valley.  But then the climb began around Selkirk.  Several km’s leading up to the town, going straight up through the town, and for several km’s out of the town!  By then we were at the highest point around and had wonderful 360degree panoramic views.  Mountains have disappeared and sloping fields have taken their place.  Shades of gold and brown are replacing green as hedgerows are growing heavy with rosehips.  Mid August and already fall is on it’s way.

This will be our last night in Scotland.  Camping tonight only a few miles from the boarder.  Goodbye Scotland!  I’ve enjoyed our beautiful landscape of blues and greys and golds, goodbye cute little towns full of cobbles and closes, goodbye food that pushes the limits of my gag reflex, and goodbye to good friends that we’ve grown to love.   I sincerely hope that we will return and glean a bit more of your richness.
