Enjoyed the most beautiful full moon rise from the plane on our approach to Amsterdam. And then while attempting to board the plane to Nairobi I endured the most satisfying physical frisking of my life!  Overall, I think Amsterdam will be a place I want to return!

Apparently our 'touch down' at the Nairobi airport is 12 hours in length!  Totally unprepared for this, we looked into obtaining Visas and traveling into the city to find a place to sleep, but the cost was just to great ($25 each for the Visas, and approx. $275 for the room USD).  Pretty pricey for a stopover!  So around the airport we go!  It's quite small, and very obvious that we are not in Kansas (I mean, Canada) anymore.  Dark, small booths for shops rather than large well lit displays.  Wandering around looking for a place to stay, we wandered into some interesting private lounges, prayer rooms, and Visa processing offices! Gotta love the professionalism here!

Finally, we found an area with some lovely benches to stretch out our weary bodies on.  After many hours of sleeping on the plane,  the last thing we want to do is sleep.  But it's the middle of the night, and to acclimatize ourselves to the new schedule this is what we must do.

Clutching our bags close to our bodies we curled up to make ourselves as comfortable as possible.  Apparently, throughout the night a group of men checking boarding passing came through the lounge.  I completely slept through this, but they were satisfied with Krista and Grant telling them that I was with them.

Awaiting the plane to Addis, but not knowing if the tour company will be meeting with us as planed.  Due to my early take-off from Calgary, last minute details could not be made.  We'll be finding out shortly...
