Back in Bahir Dar I awoke early to the sound of prayers and birds.  A beautiful sunrise over Lake Tana I couldn't resist taking some photos of fishers in papyrus boats again.

Shuffled onto a bus before I could finish my morning coffee (Ethiopian coffee will make ANY day good!).  On our way to the airport to try this again.  Now there were many, many more people in the waiting room than there were yesterday.  Not sure if they are from yesterday's delayed flights, last night's canceled flight, or this morning's regularly scheduled flights...

There are 2 planes on the tarmac:  our broken one from yesterday, and the one that flew in with a part from Addis last night.  They begin by boarding the morning group of passengers on our repaired plane which gets everyone in a ruckus again.  At the slightest indication, we all line up without being asked to board the other plane.

Waiting on the tarmac we watch as the other plane prepares to take off.  As they start it up, only one engine and propeller are going.  After a very long time and a few kicks from the ground crew, it starts with a gigantic puff of black smoke!  Everyone waiting with us to board stares in disbelief as the plane begins to taxi down the runway.  I find myself saying a prayer of safety for those passengers!

After boarding, we sit.  Too dashed to even hope, we're anticipating the call to disembark again.  However, we hear the other plane returning.  Apparently the 'repair' was not as successful as once thought, and I am very grateful.  Wondering who is going to get to fly now, we're pleased when we hear the engines start.  Finally, in the air we breath a sigh of relief!  Can't wait to get to Addis and see Noah :)
