Also our diving experiences were always absolutely amazing. In only four dives we saw at least ten turtles, an octopus, a poisonous stone fish and millions of beautiful colorful fish and coral. The highlight was on our third dive when a big purple jellyfish was turned upside down floating at about 12 meters under the surface and two huge turtles dining on it's edges. We came so close to the big gentle reptiles that we could have touched them when stretching out an arm. The current under water was quite strong at that time so we had to struggle against it in order not to get pulled into the turtles' dinner.
But there wasn't much time to dwell on leaving the Gilis, we met up with Mollie (Jack's mum) and Ken (her husband) who had booked us into a luxurious 5star resort in the rainforest. When we arrived they told us at the reception to not leave the windows open, otherwise monkeys would come in and steal from our mini bar. There are monkeys everywhere! When we chill out on the balcony they jump around in the trees right next to us.
Otherwise Langkawi Island seems to take it's reputation of a rainforest quite literally, it pours down with rain every day and night. That is the time then when we relax under the shelter with a GnT, the sunny intervals we sit by the pool and work on our tan :)
