Like America
Nobody walks anywhere
I find it galling
So finally we quit central america tomorrow and are off on a new method of transport....a plane! (how totally origianl) to Quito, Ecuador.
We spent the last 2 weeks doing all sorts of (boring?) personal administration, filling in endless immigration forms for Linz so that we can hopefully go live in Canada next year when our big trip is over and otherwise generally mooching around and dreaming of european cheeses

. it has been really nice enjoying the total luxury of having a bed with a mattress, a toilet that flushes (it even has a seat!) and a [mostly] mozzie-free room. We have filled our bellies with homemade pizza, veggie curry, and hommus and now crave a steady diet of rice and beans again!We said our fond farewells to Betsy and saw her into the arms of Jorge, a man who was as excited to adopt her as we were reluctant to sell. He plans to use her to bond with his 5 year old daughter and teach her real hippy values. we are really happy that he will be continuing to care for betsy in the future (especially because it was such a pain in the ass to even be able to sell!!!!)
But we are off finally to a new continant for both of us and are really excited about crossing the equator shortly... More soon.....
