the car ran beatifully following the timing adjustment.
for about an hour.
then it cut out completely.
we were saved by the gren angels. mexico´s free tourist roadside assistance people. they didn´t give us much confidence at first as they spilled half our fuel onto the roadway and semed confused, but they did get us going again with the only slight drawback of destroying our ignition switch. we ended up having to spend half a day in the next town (ococingo) getting it repaied. that handled we were back on the road, but due to the delay we only made it to san cristobal, and not to some lagunas we had picked out closer to the guatemala border. we got to see our friends with betsy´s twin again and ate a delicious pizza for supper to help wind down.

Hi Linz & Simon
Have got a travel Blog now for our travels across South America!!!!!
Sounds a bit dodgy where you are with all that protection money. Stay safe
Just been looking at your waterfall photos but then realised they were from a random blog. Whoops!

petersfield uk greetings from zoe
Envious of your travels! A bit wet and windy here in the UK. Off to barcelona to practice my spanish this weekend, how is yours coming along? Take care (the mechanics in the UK also just fiddle, my car had a blowing something this week, a screw driver and a bit of prodding from the bloke around the corner seemed to fix it!)
