We're back in Coquitlam for one last night. We got back from Gibsons two days ago and spent a day running about getting Simon's passort, international driver's license and Hep B jabs. We also managed to swing by International Travel maps in Vancouver. That was an experience in itself. Imagine if you will a bookshop of average size, but filled with shelf upon shelf laden with every map and travel book imaginable of varying detail and covering almost every country on the globe.[Greg you'd just love it! Linz] As the maps were a bit pricey we debated for some time before selecting a few maps that we felt would be the most difficult to find in country and will be crossing our fingers on that one!
Today we spent much longer than we thought trying to get all of our new purchases and supplied stowed away in Betsy's various hidey-holes and whatnot. That out of the way we're all set to leave early in the morning tomorrow
They say work expands to fill the time available. Well stuff expands to fit the space available too.. with a little more room in your average VW camper than your average rucksack we defo have much more stuff than I am used to traveling with. Well a little luxury is nice for once! I (Linz) would also just like to add that its been really nice spending a few weeks in Canadia and getting to know Simon;s family - thanks to Lovain, Lyle, Ben, Eric and Bernie for all the hospitality and help!
* Road Watch *
As it might be a little while before we update the blog again - as agreed with various concerned friends and family members we're posting our basic itinerary... Tomorrow we will be leaving at 7:00 and hoping to get somewhere near Portland, Oregon by nighttime. The next day we hope to get to San Fransisco, where we plan to spend a couple of days, before leaving for Death Valley National Park, Vegas and the Grand Canyon. Then its down through Tuscon or Phoenix to the Mexican border at Nogales and bye bye USA hello sunshine.
If we don't manage to get online before then - Happy easter!
